An elegant gilt gesso octagonal C19th Italian mirror with original mercury glass plate.  The frame has charming pocking to create acanthus leaf detail and lovely gilding with slight wear to frame showing some of the red bole underneath.  There is also foxing to the glass but reflection is clear.  Can be hung portrait or landscape.
