A stunning, rare and highly unusual parcel-gilt and cherry wood Biedermeier sofa. It has been reupholstered in a champagne coloured satin fabric. Carved wood acanthus leaf and scroll parcel gilt decoration rarely used in Biedermeier furniture, against a blond cherry wood background. c1825. Possibly South German.
