A beautiful hand embroidered textile depicting many Japanese red crowned crane. Wonderful soft colours and use of different stitching to create feathers and detail. A highly accomplished work of art. The Japanese red crowned crane symbolises happiness, longevity and good fortune. In Japan the sighting of a crane is a sign of good luck and good things to come. We've mounted this beautiful textile on a stetcher ready to hang as an art piece. It dates from the Japanese Meiji period (1868 - 1912).
