A fine Victorian Gothic Revival Burr Elm, Amaranth and marquetry inlaid centre table, c1860. The marquetry top is exceptionally inlaid using specimen woods of Rosewood, Burr Elm, Satinwood and Burr Walnut to create a pattern of C scrolls, stylised acanthus leaves, foliage as well as ribbons and shields. This rests above a pierced frieze on baluster turned legs which are joined by an arched stretcher on bun feet with casters. A statement piece of rare and unusual quality.
